Many of our volunteers will come from American Red Cross Bay Area Youth for Chinese Elderly (YCE) Program. The program was found in 1972. The YCE program has clubs in 9 San Francisco high schools. These include:
• Balboa High School
• Phillip and Sala Burton High School
• Galileo Academy of Science & Technology
• Thurgood Marshall High School
• Wallenberg High School
• International Studies Academy (ISA)
• Lincoln High School
• Washington High School
• Newcomer High School (YCE Program credited class)
These students will help us make sure that the training runs smoothly on February 27, 2010. We also need your help.
Additional Volunteer Opportunities
We need additional volunteers to make Childhood Obesity 2010: The Next Generation of Prevention and Management a successful training. We need volunteers for various jobs on the day of the event.
You must be available to volunteer for the whole day. This will be a good service learning experience. Volunteers must attend an orientation. Volunteers receive free admission to the training, breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. All volunteers must attend the orientation.
